Now introducing Curtsy Clear Out: The Fastest Way to Sell 💸

Clear Out is a convenient way to sell more than 3 items quickly. You only make one listing for all your items that sell via auction to members of our Wholesale program.

For when you have little time, but a lot to sell

Selling clothes online should be simple. After months of research, we learned that the number one reason people don’t sell their clothes is because it takes too much time. Especially when they have a lot to sell. That’s why we’re launching Clear Out, a simpler way to sell.

While listing one item at a time is still the best way to maximize your earnings on each item, Clear Out is the best way to sell a lot of clothes, with a fraction of the work.

How Does Clear Out Work?

To get started just tap ‘sell’ at the bottom of your app and select the new Clear Out option.

Compared with normal, single item listings that are live on the app until they sell, Clear Out listings have 3 or more items and sell via auction over 7 days to members of our Wholesale Program.

At the end of the week, you’ll ship out all your items in one bag to the highest bidder. We’ll even mail you the bag and the prepaid shipping label to use. It’s that simple.

Read more on how Clear Out works

Here’s what our users are saying

We’re so excited to share this feature with you. If you’d like more info, watch our video or send us a message in the app. If you’re interested in learning more the Wholesale program, send us a message.

We know Clear Out may not be perfect from day one, so we’d love to hear from you on how we can continue to improve it ([email protected]).

We’re excited for your feedback!

Cheers 🥰

Closet Clean-Out Tips: 4 Questions to Ask Yourself💬

Cleaning out your closet doesn’t have to be confusing or stressful! Like looking through old photos or meeting up with a past friend, a closet clean-out can be a chance to reflect on how you’ve changed and where you’re headed. By taking the time to ask yourself four simple questions, you can be one step closer to having a thrifted wardrobe that changes with your lifestyle ♻️.

1. How does this fit me?

Try to dig a little deeper beyond how the piece fits your body – when you wear it, do you feel comfortable and confident? Try on some clothes in the mirror, turn on your favorite music, and take note of how the color, texture, and movement of the piece makes you feel. If you’re sure you’d want to resell a piece on Curtsy, you can use this time to start creating content for Try-On videos! Create a yes, no, and maybe pile, and remember that they aren’t set in stone. Pieces can be moved around as you keep asking yourself these questions.

2. How does this fit my lifestyle?

What do you spend a majority of your time doing for work, me-time, and social time? If you work from home, you’ll need comfy yet professional basics. To make getting out of the house on weekends that much more exciting, you might want some extra glam dresses (Revolve dresses are my go-to 💛). If you’re on a sports team at school, maybe you could use some North Face pieces that keep you cozy on walks to class and activewear that fits just right.

3. Can I give this more life or am I ready to let go?

Sometimes you’ll come across pieces you’ve had for so long you can’t imagine letting them go, like a leather jacket that’s been with you through years of ups and downs. Think about the care the item requires and if you have the time/energy to fix any damage. If it’ll just be taking up space after many closet cleanouts, it could feel refreshing to resell that pre-loved item to someone new! Even better if the category or brand is trending on Curtsy and could sell super quickly 🤑!

4. How can I expand on styles outside of my comfort zone?

The best part about a closet clean-out is that it helps your closet evolve with you 🌱. Are there any pieces that stuck out to you that you’ve been nervous to wear, but want to try, like vintage sweaters? Or a piece you thought was your aesthetic but no longer feels right (that might even still have the tags on 🏷️)? Reselling is the perfect way to explore looks outside of your comfort zone while knowing you’re sustainably switching pieces in and out.

Ready to clear out the old and bring in the (like)-new? We can’t wait to see your listings!

20 Tips to Ship: The Curtsy Shipping Guide

You know the old saying…ship happens! You’ve just sold something on Curtsy and now the only thing standing between you and scoring extra cash in your Curtsy Wallet is shipping. We’re here to show you that shipping is easy. Straight from our customer support team to you – here’s tips to becoming a shipping queen! With this shipping guide you’ll ship easy and have buyers (and USPS) coming back for more!

The 1-2-3-4 of Shipping

  1. Print out the shipping label we email to you or request a label to be mailed to you
  2. Pack your item in any small box or envelope, or use our Shipping Kit
  3. Give your package to USPS, schedule a pickup, or drop it in a USPS bin
  4. Be sure to mark your sale as “Shipped” in the app and you get paid once it ships!

For more details check out our Shipping FAQ Page

Label Tips: We’re into labels

  1. Print your label: Regular size 8 1/2 paper or label sticker works just fine!
  2. Use the link from Curtsy to print so the label is clear (not a photo of a photo).
  3. No printer? No problem! When creating your pre-paid label, tap “request label via mail”. We’ll mail your label the next business day, and you’ll receive it within 5-7 business days! Request a label soon after you sell to avoid delays.
  4. You can also find a printer near you at a print shop, school, friend’s house or public library.

Packaging Tips: Wrap it up

  1. Pack up your item, any small box or envelope will do!
  2. Order our Shipping Kit: Don’t worry about finding a box! Buy a shipping kit and we’ll send you mailers to have for your next sale.
  3. Sustainable packaging: Reuse a box or envelope (Yes, even an Amazon box). Remember to remove or cover old labels and tape.

💡Pro tip: In a pinch? Flip a previously used mailer inside out. What’s old is new again!

  1. Tape on your label, but DON’T tape over the barcode (it’s harder for USPS to scan over tape).
  2. Use tissue paper and padding on fragile items like sunglasses and jewelry, and to keep your items from moving around in the box.
  3. Keep it clean: Make sure items are dirt free and match your listing.
  4. Take photos of your item before and after packaging for your own records.

Personalization Tips: Be a little extra

  1. Add in a thoughtful thank you note, sticker, or extra gift with your package as a fun surprise for the buyer.
  2. Draw doodles on the package for a nice touch.

Drop off Tips: Options to Ship it!

  1. Let USPS come to you: You can schedule a pickup with USPS using this link, and USPS will come to you!
  2. Drop off at the post office: Leave your package with a clerk inside USPS, and be sure to get a receipt for your records!
  3. Use a blue USPS drop box: Drop your package in any USPS dropbox near you! (This option can sometimes come with increased delays, so try the options above first if you can! Be sure to snap a quick pic of the info on the drop box too!)

Quick Guide to a Winter Closet Clean Out

Who says you have to save your big closet clean out until Spring? The sun is officially setting later each day, so it’s the perfect time to take advantage of the burst of energy that comes with a bit of extra daylight! ✨

I have three easy steps you can follow to clean out your closet for this Winter season AND help you play your part in circular fashion* for years to come (*a sustainable approach to fashion where clothes are reused and recycled in endless amounts of ways, instead of throwing them away). ♻️

🔎 Figure out what’s already working

Imagine your closet as a place you can emerge from each day with a layer of armor that helps you take on the world  💪. I know that might seem impossible with a prom dress stuffed in the corner, or an old winter coat blocking the flared corduroy pants you just bought – but that’s all background noise for now! Time to take a deep breath and figure out what does work first.

First, ask yourself how you want to look and feel this season, and set aside the basics and classics that’ll fulfill that vision 👁️‍🗨️. Now comes the fun part – what are some unique gems buried in your closet that will show the world your outfits are made for you and no one else? Set these aside too! (Need some help? Make a 2022 vision board).

The answers might come right away – but if they don’t, you can always keep mental notes over a week or two on the pieces you are drawn to/wear the most, and set those aside in your closet 💭

💚 Make your space sustainable

If anything is constant, it’s change, but creating a space where you can cycle through changes and evolve will help you stay grounded for the long run. To keep the closet clean out momentum going throughout the year (and the year after that 🤩), try setting aside an area for all things resell. This could be a section of your closet, a corner of a room, or even an attic space, where you go to decide what you want to donate, resell, and buy for yourself. You can set up some warm lighting, a full-length mirror to try out different looks (and model items to list on Curtsy! 📸), and a cozy chair or floor pillow to pack up your sales and browse for those hidden gems (bonus points if you call this your Curtsy Corner 😉).

💎 Thrift Your Dream Closet

At this point, you probably can’t wait to level up your winter wardrobe with key pieces – like the perfect pair of platform Converse to go with your distressed dad jeans. But after taking inventory of what works, note what’s desperately needed. Maybe you’re way more comfortable in oversized denim this year instead of bombers.

Made it a goal to work out more? Why not treat yourself to Lululemon leggings in your favorite color? Or maybe you’ve picked up painting again and want a cute patterned bandana to keep your hair out of your eyes while you focus. Whichever items you end up thrifting, they’ll mean a lot to the person you’re working hard each day to become 🎇

By cleaning out the old and creating a closet space you want to keep going back to, you’ll turn sustainable fashion into a practice for life 🌍💙

Top Trends To Fall For 🍁

It seems like just yesterday we were planning our Hot Girl Summer and picking out the wildest bucket hat to go with our sunnies 😎. Don’t worry, you’re still hot as ever, but it’s time to trade in your cropped fits for cozy looks, because Summer is officially coming to an end.

Don’t be too sad. With Fall comes its own fresh scents, dreamy vacations and fashion goals 🍂. That’s why we’re here to give you ideas on what to list or love on Curtsy to get you ready for the season. These Fall fashion trends are soon to be at the top of countless shopping lists.

1. Oversized Leather Jackets

Leather jackets are a wardrobe staple, but for Fall the motto is definitely the bigger, the better. We can’t get enough of the many shapes and styles to fit any mood. Maybe go for the trench for a little mystery or the bomber style for a little classic-cool? You get bonus points if your jacket makes you feel like a rebel who can conquer it all, even though we know you have a heart of gold 💛.

2. Baguette Bags

If we learned anything from pandemic life, it’s that we don’t need much to get by. Grab your essentials, pack your baguette bag, throw it over your shoulder and go. A baguette is small, but the statement it makes is huge. Especially if it’s in luxe fabrics like suede or leather and creative shapes like the half moon or ruching.

3. Red

This trend will have everyone stopping in their tracks to obsess over your style. Red doesn’t just stand for love, it’s also for the passionate and bold. The color is a statement choice on its own, and when paired with eye-catching styles can bring an edge to any fit. Red is just the beginning of the major color story for Fall that is saturated hues like siren red and emerald green.

4. Cargo Pants

Utility is the name of the game. We owe cargo pants to the Y2K trend that we’re all still coveting. Complete the look with a fitted and flirty top to balance the loose silhouette of the pants.

5. Long Sleeve Sets

We saw sets crop up in summer and we get the feeling that they are here to stay. To get set for Fall, take your pick from long sleeve sets that can handle the cooler temps. Top your look with a fitted blazer or cardigan and finish off with coordinating pants or midi skirt.

Ready to trend? 💃🏻 List your Fall items on Curtsy now.

PS. I was obsessed with this Sunday Muse set I got off Curtsy! I even wore it to my 21st birthday trip to Nashville.

💖 What I love about Curtsy: First off, it’s so easy to do. I love taking pictures of my items and I like to have a variety of pictures. I think about what picture I would want to see if I was buying it. I also love that it suggests a price based on the item. I love the Curtsy community, all the girls on their are so nice and helpful!!
🔥 Pro tips: I have sold a lot of shorts, shirts, bikinis, and shoes!

We’ll be adding more Curtsy sellers throughout this week & beyond. 😻
