Some mornings I look in the mirror and the first thing that comes to mind is: oh my God, I don’t even have kids yet.
What follows is always different: sometimes it’s directed toward my cellulite, other times at my love handles, occasionally at the stress pimple on my cheek. It’s always some sentiment of self-hate: maybe I could be skinnier, tanner, a little less me and a little more cool girl.
You know what’s shitty? My experiences in front of the mirror aren’t special or unique.
Did you know that St. Jude Children’s hospital was founded by a comedian?
By the time he founded the hospital in 1962, Danny Thomas was one of the most well-known and successful entertainers in the world. But that wasn’t always the case.
As a young man living in Detroit, Thomas struggled for years to support his family through his work as a performer. According to the hospital history, a breakthrough moment in his life happened in a church before the patron saint of hopeless causes, St. Jude.
“Show me my way in life,” he promised the Saint, “and I will build you a shrine.”
I wrote a book (Barneys, Bergdorfs & Bill$) that teaches you how to understand and manage your hard earned bucks… but first, you have to actually get a job! This is a post about how.
Hey y’all. Good news to share: Nimble is coming to Bama, and they asked me to blog about it.
Nimble is a cool new app that lets girls at Bama rent dresses from each other. It’s a great way to make extra money, and posting dresses is as easy as Instagram.
