Meet Grayson.
Being the social butterfly she is, it didn’t take Grayson Rooker long to find her way around Athens, GA. Grayson’s a freshman at UGA and has already made an impact on this town with her show stopping style. Grayson definitely doesn’t play it safe—she’s been referred to as UGA’s GiGi Hadid, and we see why.
Q: Describe your personal style.
I’m a pants girl, so I love a great pair of jeans with a simple white tee, a cool belt, and a pair of booties. I’m counting down the days until it gets cooler, so I can bring out my leather jackets and sweaters.
Q: What are three wardrobe essentials you can’t live without?
My ripped jeans in these pictures, my Allsaints oxblood leather jacket, and my favorite booties that I wear during all four seasons. I also love all of my jewelry from my mom’s line, Whitney beads.
I was able to work with my mom in her studio this summer and experience how her business works. I helped design a few pieces that were then brought to life.
One of my favorite pieces from her line is the bulky chain with my favorite charm, the diamond feather. Almost every necklace of hers has a diamond clasp, so you can switch up the charms.
I also love mixing in other jewelry from other designers. The white and blue leather cuffs I am wearing are Blair’s Belts. Blair is from Atlanta and makes the coolest cuffs. I love throwing these on with my mom’s beaded bracelets.
Q: How do you go about planning each outfit you wear?
I always pick my clothes first, and then I accessorize. I have a few pieces that I never take off, like all of my rings and gold necklaces. Since my mom’s studio is in our backyard, I just walk back there and pick something out if I can’t find a necklace from my closet.
I get my fashion inspiration from a lot of models such as Kendall Jenner and Lily Aldridge. They always have the best casual looks. I want to raid their closets.
I also love Bella Hadid. She isn’t afraid to wear bold outfits. I’ve never seen anyone pull off a pair of boyfriend jeans with a black one piece as well as her.
Q: What’s your fashion weakness?
Midi dresses all the way. That’s all I’ve been wearing to events that I need to wear a dress to. I just love the look of a midi dress, and whenever I get the chance to wear, I take it.
